EARTH DAY EVENTS – 4/22/2023

Jefferson County – Birmingham, AL

Plant a Fest for Earth Day – We’re Planting a Feast for Earth Day here at the farm. We will have thousands of seeds and seedlings to plant now that will continue to feed the community through the fall. We will celebrate the healing power of nature while working in community, so please good vibes only! To sign up please visit www.bit.ly/FHFEarthDay2023. What will volunteers do? While on the farm we will weed and clear beds, plant seeds and seedlings, share stories of who we are, listen to great music, create some beautiful nature-inspired crafts, and come together for food and earth justice. Please remember to sign the farm volunteer waiver here. We have a variety of activities planned for the farm including seeding trays which may be an excellent activity for folks who need/want to sit, prefer shade, or have limited mobility. We also have activities like moving soil, mulching, and planting in-ground that requires bending, kneeling, reaching, and more mobility.

Love Your Community 2nd Annual Earth Day Celebration – Gulf Coast Creation Care is having an Electrical Vehicle Showcase as part of the Earth Day Celebration in Mobile sponsored by Love Your Community. We work with Drive Electric Alabama to bring Electric Vehicle owners together with persons interested in viewing different models of electric vehicles and asking questions of owners about what it’s like to own an electric vehicle and any problems or benefits they have experienced.

Montgomery County – Montgomery, AL

Clean Up, Green Up, Level Up – Clean Up, Green Up, Level Up will jumpstart the creation of a Community Disaster Unit/House in Montgomery, AL. During this event, 50 care boxes prefilled with standard items needed during a disaster (e.g. sanitizer, soap, tissue, feminine hygiene products, hygiene products, gloves, paper towels, wipes, water) will be assembled.
